Today I'm showing you the cards we made at my Country Lane Class this month. I won't be having any classes next month, I'll be at the Colac Market instead, so make sure you drop past to see me if you're there! I'd love to say hello to you!
I love love love the prints in the gorgeous Country Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP). When I cut up this Mint Macaron piece, I thought I'd put it on an Early Espresso cardstock base, which is the same colour as the stems & it just seemed like a really nice Sympathy card, so I have teamed it with the Flourishing Phrases stamp set, which has a really great selection of sentiments. The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso on Whisper White with Early Espresso behind. I've added Braided Linen Trim & Copper Trim, which I've cut open & pulled open to create the netting.
I've used another sentiment from Flourishing Phrases on the inside in Early Espresso with the cotton flowers stamp from the Country Home stamp set in Mint Macaron to match the front.
The next card is a great masculine card & it's wonderful when Stampin' Up throw in these nice, dark, wood texture prints with all the flowers, cos you can use them in so man different ways to accentuate the flowers, but then isn't it lovely just on it's own as well? I find simple works best for masculine cards, so I've added the sentiment in Soft Suede to pick up on the lighter wood grain, stamped on Very Vanilla, cut with the Everyday Label Punch & a bit of Striped Burlap behind. I've also used a Very Vanilla cardstock base.
This is another one like the Dashing Deer cards I made recently & cased from the lovely Ronda Wade. It's a great way to use DSP when you can't choose which side to use & they are very easy to make. Start by cutting your 12" sheet of DSP in three equal lengths (4" or 10.1cm) & if your paper is patterned, you want the smallest, first score at the top of the page & that becomes the strip that shows across the front. Add a little embellishment up on Dimensionals & leave room for the strip to slide up underneath to keep the card closed.
CM: Score 2.5cm, 9.5cm & 23cm
INCHES: Score 1", 4-3/4" & 13-3/4"
You end up with an American size card, so the insert is 5" x 3-3/4" or 12.5cm x 9.5cm. I've stamped the inside with Blackberry Bliss & Smoky Slate to match the canister on the front.
There was also a cute bookmark with this set of cards, but I didn't take any pics of it. You'll see one if you come back tomorrow, when I show all the shenanigans from class :P xx
Remember, you are wonderful! xx
