Hi Crafters!
Some exciting news for you today! It's Blog Hop time!! Today we are CASE-ing (Copy & Selectively Edit) the wonderfully talented Paula Dobson, who is also joining us on this hop!
I
hope you find great inspiration from all the projects in this hop. You
may be starting the hop here at my blog (Jessie Holton) or you may have
come from the previous person on the list. Be sure to click on the next
person in the list to continue your blog hop adventure casing Paula's
work.
I noticed while trying to choose a card of Paula's to case, that she usually has a bit of sponging or watercolouring & some defining borders. I really love her style!! I couldn't choose one card to case, but I managed to narrow it down to two haha! Here's Paula's cards.
And here are my cases of Paula's beautiful cards. They are both on Basic Black cardstock bases & using the Remarkable You stamp set (images) & the retired For the New Two stamp set (sentiments). For this first one, I have wet a strip on the Watercolour paper a little off center with my Aqua Painter & then dripped Real Red, Bermuda Bay & Daffodil Delight inks right on top, letting them blend naturally. The sentiment & image are inked in Basic Black Archival, but you could also use Momento Black, as long as you allowed the watercolouring to dry completely first. Apart from the drying time, this was a really easy card to make.
For the second card, I have Heat Embossed Gold with my Versamark & Heat Tool all over the top half of the base, then added a layer of Whisper White with the same image from the Remarkable You stamp set in Basic Black. I have also used Gold heat emboss powder for the sentiment, which I have layered on Whisper White & propped up on Dimensionals. Before attaching the sentiment, I have added a strip of Gold Sequin Trim.
This pic shows off the Gold heat embossing a little more in the light.
And I have continued the look on the inside of the card, with Basic Black images, Gold heat embossed sentiment & a couple of Gold Sequins on Glue Dots for good measure.
I hope you have enjoyed my cards, I would love to know which is your favourite! Please hop around the rest of the Crazy Crafters & check out our cases of Paula's wonderful work!
