I was asked by a family friend to make her two cards. Check out tomorrow's blog for my 50th Anniversary card. The other one was a birthday card for her great niece, who's 8. I was requested to leave the sentiments very simple. The party was Disney themed, so I decided to make an Elsa card. Here's what I came up with:
I used a Lost Lagoon cardstock base 6x6". The blue glitter card & snowflake background paper was from my stash. I have used Pool Party cardstock for the top of the dress/sleeves, detailed with pencil & the tops of the snowflakes.
I have used Very Vanilla cardstock for the hair, head & shoulders, & I have used the Blender Pens to add a little Pink Pirouette ink to the face & shoulders, wiping the excess water carefully away with a paper towel. I have used a pencil to lightly sketch the plait in Elsa's hair. The blue rhinestones were from my stash. I have used a silver gel pen to draw the pleats in the back of Elsa's skirt.
I have used Lost Lagoon ink for the small snowflakes, which are from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set & I have used the matching Snowflake punch to cut them out. I have propped the smaller snowflakes up on Dimensionals.
I have followed the same theme on the inside, using the Very Vanilla cardstock for the most inner square, layered with a square of blue glitter cardstock & a square of the snowflake paper. I have used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Balloon Celebrations stamp set, stamped in Lost Lagoon ink. I have placed another set of snowflakes inside, but I have not used Dimensionals so the card will close flat.
I also made a 6x6" envelope from Pool Party cardstock, with the Envelope Punch Board - this is the first envelope I've made & it was so easy! I have also used the Lost Lagoon ink to stamp a small snowflake on the front & a large snowflake on the back, using the Flurry of Wishes stamp set.
And below is the picture I used as inspiration for my Elsa. I love Elsa's big plait & I'm terrible at drawing faces, so this one was perfect! I also wanted to use the blue glitter paper in a big swish across the front of the card. I found this pic by Googling Elsa's back hehehe :)
I have entered this card into the Paper Players Rain or Shine Challenge.
