I've been working on this card for the last few days, bit by bit. I absolutely loved the colour combo in this week's GDP Challenge! Here is the card I have come up with - a sunset over a lagoon. I've been practicing my water colouring again! I still need a bit of practice (my palm trees leave a bit to be desired haha) but gosh it's fun!!
I have used a Wisteria Wonder cardstock base with a layer of Bermuda Bay cardstock which I have embossed on the Big Shot with the Happy Heart embossing folder. The folder isn't quite wide enough to do the whole square in one go, so I have embossed part of it & then moved the folder over making sure it's lined up on top of the hearts you've already embossed before running it back through the Big Shot again.
I have hand painted the picture using the Blender Pens with Wisteria Wonder, Melon Mambo & Bermuda Bay inks, doing a layer at a time & leaving it to dry before adding more. I have used Shimmery White cardstock to paint on & the white border is another layer of Shimmery White cardstock. I have glued it all together with the Tape & Tear.
On the inside I have done more layers of Bermuda Bay & Shimmery White cardstocks. I have used Wisteria Wonder ink & the sentiment is from the What I Love stamp set out of the Sale-A-Bration catalog. Jessie, your card is beautiful. It almost has an impressionist feel to it. I just order some more shimmery white cardstock to try this technique, too. Thanks for joining us for this week's color challenge at Global Design Project.
